...that the Carib Indians used the word, Ananas, to describe the native pineapple, and it meant "excellent fruit." In 1493, when Christopher Columbus made his second voyage to the Caribbean region, he took that excellent fruit back to Europe where it instantly became a rare, coveted item given to royaly as gifts. Later, in the American colonies the pineapple took on other symbolic meanings related to the concept of hospitality.
And today...we translate "excellent fruit" to "excellent gifts"--add a little personalization--and we are so there!
